Tiktok Resumes

TikTok has resumed its services in the United States after a temporary shutdown, following assurances from President-elect Donald Trump. The platform had ceased operations due to a federal law requiring its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to divest its U.S. operations by January 19, 2025, citing national security concerns. With the divestment not completed, TikTok faced a ban. However, Trump announced plans to sign an executive order delaying the ban’s enforcement, granting ByteDance additional time to find a suitable buyer. This decision has allowed TikTok to restore access for its over 170 million American users.
